Red Ranch Inn Catskill, Catskill

I've had a mixed experience at the Red Ranch Motel. The value for money is excellent, with clean facilities and a friendly atmosphere. However, one of the rooms I stayed in had a musty moldy smell that impacted my comfort, so it’s worth being cautious if you’re sensitive to that. The grounds are nice for relaxation and the access to local attractions is great.

I’ve been coming here for over 20 years, but unfortunately, my recent experience wasn’t great. The cleanliness has definitely declined, and the presence of caterpillars all over the exterior was unexpected and uncomfortable. While the beds need an upgrade and the rooms had a musty smell, I appreciated the great dining experience at the nearby restaurant and reasonable price. However, I think it’s time to look for a new place for our annual trip.

My experience at this hotel was quite mixed. While the location was convenient for visiting Kaaterskill Falls and Olana, our first room had a peculiar smell, and we faced some major plumbing issues. The second room was much better, clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, noise from other guests disrupted our stay, but I appreciated the hotel's willingness to move us to a better room the next day. Overall, the hotel is affordable but has some serious maintenance issues that need addressing.
